We had a new client in January seeking recovery from Meth addiction and alcohol use; he is a local – meaning that he lives near our clinic. His primary language is Spanish; yet with his English skills and our staff’s working knowledge of Spanish – communication was hardly difficult. When he arrived for the first day of his treatment, he was severely sleep-deprived, and struggled to stay awake for the intake part of his appointment. This was likely just the tip of the problems he was dealing with. He was in the right place coming to Mind and Body works for treatment for addiction.
We gave him support, understanding and space to talk about his experiences without being judged, condemned or criticized. We saw improvement quickly, and once the fog started to lift – a lively, compassionate and funny person was revealed. His true nature came through – he is now helping to spread the word about rehabilitation and gave us the following letter as a testament of his gratitude.
While you’ll find his writing is a little difficult to read – we’re sure that you’ll find his message clear. Peace be with you.
